Home of Trophy Bass Lodge and World Class Bass Fishing

Lake Huites Outfitters... your direct connection to the "Legendary" Lake
Huites, Mexico and Trophy Bass Lodge. Thanks for stopping by our home on the web...we hope you will
check back often.
LHO is the agent/outfitting arm of Trophy Bass Lodge. Over
35 years ago I made my first foray out of the United States on an exciting
bass fishing adventure to the famed Lake Yojoa Logoona of Central Honduras.
It was an exciting trip and it was the "Hook" that would start my Bassin' quest to the great
giant bass destinations found South of the Border.
After Honduras it was Mexico and the once highly popular Lake Guerrero... later it would be Hidalgo,
Dominguez, Huites, El Salto, Comedero, Agua Milpa and finally El Cuchillo. All great lakes to be sure and a
couple are still right at the top of their game! What began as semi-annual angling treks with business
associates, friends and family eventually transitioned into selecting a destination to call home... at least a
home lake in Mexico.
I saw Lake Huites as not just one among many but rather, one standing
out among many. All of the necessary "ingredients" were in place at Huites to sustain
a healthy largemouth bass population. It was a pristine, high desert gem of a canyon reservoir located in the
remote edges of the Sierra Madre Mountains with all of the conditions present that would allow the fishery to
mature into a Great Largemouth Bass Destination. Moreover, it had an incredible forage base with an abundance
of shad, sunfish and the protein packed Talipa. There was significant deep water...as well as ample shallow
bays and flats...limitless types of structure, both shore line and deep water humps, ledges, saddles, islands,
old foundations and even sunken train cars.
I had always felt that Huites was without a doubt the most scenic lake in all of Mexico but I also could see
the tremendous potential Huites had to establish, sustain and perpetuate a trophy bass population. True
enough, Huites was a "numbers" lake, but the potential to become a premier, perhaps even a Legendary
Trophy Bass Lake was on the horizon. The acquisition of Trophy Bass Lodge soon followed and the rest, as they
say, is history.
BUT, the years of traveling and visiting all of the different camps and
lodges allowed this angler/outfitter to experience the good as well as the
"less than desirable" attributes of the various destinations.
So here we are, working to build a top shelf destination by taking the best
ingredients of those visited "on the learning curve" and incorporating
them into the whole experience of Lake Huites and Trophy Bass Lodge. That,
coupled with our guest surveys and recommendations, keeps TBLmindful of
its Mission Statement:
"the fishing trip of a lifetime".
As I travel and visit the great angling destinations, throughout the Americas,
I am always looking for the enhancements that cause a certain lodge to stand
out. Then I want to bring those ideals and policies back to TBLM and ask
that they be implemented into the operation for all to experience and enjoy.
Thankfully we have an outstanding bi-lingual team on the ground at the Lodge
and here in the States. Bringing you the Best in Mexico Bass Fishing would
not be possible without the TBL Mexico operating group under the directions
of the TBLM Operations Manager George.
In addition to George, the TBLM staff includes: Hector, lodge manager; Luiz,
guide manager; Freddy, a most exceptional chef; Josie, van driver and Socorro
housekeeper. Joining them are 10 seasoned Huites native guides to serve
you and assist you as you experience the angling adventures of Legendary
Lake Huites!
One of my frustrations when fishing the Mexican lakes was the less than
desirable boats and the way most were set up. I've never been real happy
with having my feet all tucked down into the bottom seam of a V front boat
or a Panga. Nor do I like standing, better said balancing myself, on the
front wedge of a Panga trying to cast. So establishing and maintaining a
top flight fleet of fishing boats was a priority. We’re thankful to
have Brett Graham, at the helm of overseeing the fleet and managing the
equipment needs. Keeping everything in proper working order and assuring
our clients of the equipment they need to be prepared is no small task in
a remote operation such as Lake Huites. The boats are 19' Carolina Skiffs
with 50 hp 4 stroke Yamaha engines, Minn Kota trolling motors,
Eagle or Lowrance electronics, large front casting decks,
comfortable swivel seats, life vests and a cooler full of cold beer, soft
drinks and bottled water.
Over the past four years the reputation of Trophy Bass Lodge has been
established and as such has grown to the place of prominence as a premier
Lodge on what many believe is the Best Bass Lake in Mexico. Always know
as a "numbers lake" Huites is now at the top of the list as a
Trophy Lake as well.
The formula for the rapid and sustained success of Lake Huites Outfitters
and Trophy Bass Lodge is the ability to offer anglers a lightly pressured,
remote fishery, experienced guides, first class equipment, without sacrificing
comfort.
We have set in place an experienced and professional team to accommodate
all of the needs of the discriminating traveling angler... we are here to
assist you with scheduling, organizing and outfitting your "fishing
trip of a lifetime" to Legendary Lake Huites. Once at the Lodge, our
TBLM team takes over and continues the Mission to provide you with the outstanding
service you have come to expect from Lake Huites Outfitters.
Come, be a part of creating a Legend and you'll leave "Hooked on
Huites" and Trophy Bass Lodge!
Tighter lines,
David Fields
